Agneepath Makes Rs. 67 Crore Over 1st Weekend

Karan Johar’s Agneepath has collected a fantastic Rs. 66.5 crore to Rs. 67 crore (all-India net) at the box-office over its four-day weekend.
The opening of Agneepath on Thursday (January 26, Republic Day) was historic, the highest ever (all-India net Rs. 23 crore). Collections, which dropped on Friday, were in the region of Rs. 12.5 crore. As compared to Friday, collections went up slightly to Rs. 13.5 crore on Saturday.

However, the drop in collections witnessed on Friday and Saturday was more than compensated by the collections on Sunday, when the Hrithik Roshan-starrer added Rs. 17.5-18 crore (all-India net) to the tally. The jump in collections on Sunday was between 30 – 50 per cent in different circuits.

Box-Office report of other films released over the last few weeks:
Good Night Good Morning (English), which released on January 20, bombed in the first week in Bombay and South.
Khunkhar Darindo Ki Vapsi (dubbed), also released on Jan 20, did fair business in the first week. Its original version, Underworld 4: Awakening, did better than the dubbed version.
Chaalis Chauraasi, which released on Jan 13, went from bad to worse in 2nd week all over.
Shiney Ahuja-starrer Ghost (Jan 13) came nose-diving in its second week.
Abbas Mustan’s Players (Jan 6) could not do much in its third week at the box-office.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 2, released on December 23, 2011, fared very badly in the fifth week.
