Telangana issue is taking new twists and turns with each passing day. TRS continued to hope for the best and told people that formation of Telangana state was inevitable, Congress party folks from Telangana region-who apparently felt the pressure from the public-had pressed the high command. As a result, Congress MP s were suspended from the Lok Sabha proceedings earlier this year. The MP s lashed out at BJP alleging that it was BJP, which asked Congress to suspend them since they created ruckus in the house on bifurcation. BJP, on the other hand, maintained that it supported the statehood cause.

All in all, political parties confused common people in Andhra Pradesh to the core. If this was not enough, leaders from every region were making their own statements—some in favour of the state and a few against the demand-even after Centre time and again appealing to remain silent on the issue and maintain restrain. All those appeals, seemed to have went in vain, as Congress MP s once again raised the issue, but this time they had the upper hand unlike the former one wherein they were asked to move out of the house.

When voting on FDI s kept UPA in a fix, it was Congress MP s who took the situation for a good advantage. They demanded the union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to convene an all party meeting to discuss Telangana issue. And at last, the Centre had to announce the all party meeting date-December 28. This very decision looked like it targetted TDP and YSRC parties as TDP said it would give its stance on Telangana in the all party meeting while YSRC maintained it was not against the bifurcation since they can't create it nor stop it.

On the other hand, the Joint Action Committee became stronger in the region, which took out several protests to make its point. As a part of the same came, Sagara Haram (a human chain). The protest was called by TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram. Initially, the government has denied the permission but later it agreed to the demand. On September 30, crores of people gathered at the Necklace Road of Hyderabad. The entire area was echoed with Jai Telangana slogans and big wigs in Delhi carefully observed the development that took place that day. TJAC was successful in making its point as Sagara Haram received overwhelming response.
