Ilayathalapathy Vijay, the name itself gives a lot of energy to his fans. He created waves in Kollywood with blockbuster hits. Vijay coming from a film family has made an easy entry into the industry.
He debuted in 1992 with the film Naalaiya Theerpu and from that point of time there is no look back for him. His career graph has reached enormous heights in the last 18 years. He always prefers to do remake films which are hits in that particular language. Even though he is coming up with the remakes, Vijay ensures that the film looks different.

Kaavalan was initially slated for its release in December, but as his fortune is not going good this year the film landed in troubles. The first speed breaker for the film is the court stayed the release of the film as per the case filed by J K Saravanan, proprietor of Tantra films regarding the overseas rights. But in a couple of days the case has been solved and the film is set free for its release.
When the filmmakers are in search of the theaters, Kaavalan again stepped into the next trouble. Now it’s the turn of the theater owners who are against Vijay’s films. Vijay’s Sura was a big disaster due to which the theater owners faced huge losses. This made them to stop giving the screens for Vijay. The expected loss for them is nearly 9 crores and they are demanding an amount of thirty percent from the actual loss, which will turn up to Rs 3 crores.
One more major draw back is he mostly sticks to remakes. Though remakes carry a good impression, but all the time it doesn’t workout. Whenever a film is seeing a hit in other south Indian languages, Vijay tries to bag the rights and kicks off with film. He needs to analyze according to the latest scenario whether the film will hit the minds of his fans or not. In 2011 too he is coming up with the remakes one from Malayam and the other from Telugu. His next release Kaavalan is the remake of Malayalam film ‘Body Guard’ and Velayudham is the remake of Telugu film ‘Azad’.

Vijay's career graph has been declined due to the drop in the number of films per year as well as the released films resulting as disaster.
