Tollywood attempted many big films this year but many of them became duds. The films those released with highest ever expectations but have bitten mud pitifully are totally five this year. The year 2011 is in its final stages and here is a look at the biggest duds in Tollywood for this year.
PVC: The combo of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Dasari Narayana Rao failed to evoke any response. This film had many expectations and ever since its beginning Dasari had been saying that Balakrishna would bag National Award as best actor for this film. The film opened up with huge openings but theatres found empty for the subsequent show. Even the fans were deeply hurt with this film. Poor direction, illogical screenplay and lack of material in the subject resulted in the loss.

Shakti: This is another shock of the year. Aswini Dutt is said to have suffered a huge financial loss with this film. Despite strong hype and strong star cast, it was the direction which plundered the film. Some also felt the characterization of Jr NTR as the warrior was more like a mockery than a brave warrior. The backdrop set for the film, the costumes, the story line and screenplay, almost every aspect of the film contributed towards the failure of the film. Except the music nothing got commendations. This film was earlier promoted as the one coming up to beat the records of Magadheera.
Dhada:
The film Dhada starring Naga Chaitanya released amidst lot of hype. The expectations on the film were on top as it was the one released after Nagachaitanya's hits. Giving a shock to entire Tollywood, the film recorded as the first big dud in Nagachaitanya's career. Weak narration is the main reason for this film to bite mud.
Panjaa:
The film had good packaging and style but style without substance is of no use. Pawan Kalyan must be appreciated for his different attempt but poor storyline and weak heroines resulted in a flop. His beard look brought some attention initially. But lack of nativity in the comedy, poor narration and showing power star with less power resulted in a big dud.
Teenmaar:
This was a surprise. The film had everything in it to score a hit but it failed to connect with the masses. The fact that Pawan was seen in a practical manner not believing in concept of love was put-off for the audience. Even the media wished this film to be successful for the entertainment value in it, but finally audience didn’t patronize it any way. This is another film that came with huge expectations as a remake of Love Aaj Kal, but flopped miserably.

The loss of a big budget film shows its affects on the industry on a whole. Let us wish year 2012 will have better plans for big films.
